Help restore decency and civility to our politics and government!
Dear North Carolina Voters,
Can you imagine a future in which children are no longer being separated from their parents and locked in cages? Can you visualize mass shootings no longer occurring regularly, and our legislators doing more than just offering thoughts and prayers? Do you have hope that our state will finally take action so that our poor and unemployed will no longer die due to a lack of healthcare, because the General Assembly has expanded Medicaid to provide them with health insurance coverage?
Over the past four years, I’ve had conversations with hundreds of voters who shared my indignation about the corruption and abuse that we see coming from our politicians. This November, we will have the chance to do something about it, when we decide whether we continue the direction that North Carolina and our country have taken in recent years, or we take a new path. Our state, our voters, could be the ones leading the way to real change, change that would ripple throughout our country and history.
That is why I felt a need to stand up and fight to help take our state and country in a different direction—one of equality and compassion for the people of North Carolina.
This new direction will make our state and country one where we care for one another, where we celebrate the ways our differences complement each other and strengthen our nation, and one in which our leaders refuse to lie and fear-monger in the service of corruption and party loyalty.
I hope you will join me so we can work together towards that new direction, a direction towards a better state, country, and world.
